The CIA held a pre-assassination 201 ("personality") file on Oswald, and this file was expanded into its assassination investigation file. Some of the contents of the 201 file were published by the various investigations, some of it was released under Freedom of Information Act lawsuits, and the bulk of the remainder became public under the JFK Assassination Records Collection Act.
